Training for puppies

In order to establish a strong connection to the newest member of our family and to help it integrate, it is recommended and useful to go through some steps with a specialist in dog training, to make communication with your puppy easier.

Components of training:

  • learning to accept and walk on leash
  • first walk out
  • scheduling
  • learning basic commands
  • good manners
  • socialization with people and other animals
  • prevention of behavioral deviations
  • advice on health of the pup, grooming and nutrition

Pre-training classes

During these classes we bring together puppies but, depending on the necessities, we can also work individually with each puppy. The program has been specifically designed to offer you the basics for obedience training. The owner learns alongside the puppy. He/she learns how to teach the puppy do things such as:

  • respond to calling
  • SIT, LAY DOWN, WAIT, NO command
  • walk on leash without pulling
  • accept physical maneuvers
  • accept the presence of people near its food
  • welcome guests without jumping on them

Pre-training exercises are progress gradually from simple to complex, building and developing with every week the puppies' personality and good manners.

Desensitizing is extremely important in training for numerous reasons. For dogs, the changes of the environment represent elements of distraction. The presence of other animals, people, and unknown noises are factors that influence in most times negatively the mental state of mind of the animals and behavior. Dog learn to ignore these distractions and respond calmly to the changes of the environment.

Pre-training based on rewards

Pre-training has in its bases rewards. The whole education of the puppy is based on this because it satisfies the puppy's instinct that dominates it. Therefore, the puppy gets used to a strong motivation which will be of great help in later proper training.

The technique based on rewards is used to encourage the good behavior of the puppy. There is no need for a harsh or aggressive behavior from the handler in order to get things done.

Behavioral advice

During our training sessions I will help you with advice in any problem concerning canine behavior.

Practice makes the difference

Although all the information concerning the education of your puppy is given to you during training sessions, the daily routine at home is strictly necessary for strengthening it.

The character of a puppy begins to show even on the first day of its life. The puppy will develop abilities and behaviors from an early age. These can be totally the opposite of what we would like them to be, therefore making out lives harder. That is why pre-training is a necessity for all puppies.

While its genes may establish the behavior it inherits, we play an important role in how the puppy will adapt to the environment. By bringing the puppy in our home we take it from a natural environment therefore we must show it how to behave in this new one according to the society rules. Pre-training gets the dog to accept our suggestions, to cooperate with us.

Therefore it's important that the newly owners must reserve time in their daily routines for puppy's education.

Pre-training initiates commands such as: SIT, LAY DOWN, HERE, WAIT, FETCH, NO and others. Also it is important to do pre-training with your dog before proper training because it will help in making the dog accept and perform your commands.
